As a child I was always colouring and drawing at every opportunity. My first success was winning a trip to Tasmania at the age of 11, for a colouring competition of the “Cat in the Hat”. I still treasure a copy of the book I received, signed by Dr Seuss.
However art wasn’t really seen as a career for me at the time, so I completed a Bachelor of Economics at Monash University in Melbourne before marrying and moving to Germany where I began painting again in my spare time. On returning to Australia, I completed a Diploma of Fine Arts and have been painting for over 25 years.
I first exhibited my work in 1995 at an RAAF exhibition where I won the painting prize. Other prizes include St Christopher’s acquisitive award, North Shore Art Supplies painting award, Macquarie University Animalmagic Exhibition Painting Award and the Ron Hogan Memorial Painting Prize. Having exhibited in both group and solo exhibitions my works are held in private and public collections both in Australia and overseas.
