Landscapes

When working on abstract landscapes, my focus is on colour and texture. I love the way the paint moves across the canvas, the depth that can be achieved through using multiple layers of paint and the richness of the colours. These factors invoke that feeling in us of the coolness of a forest or the heat of a bushfire.

My most recent works were inspired in part by Gerhard Richter, whose works transport the viewer into landscapes that remind us of places that we have been. I hope that the viewer finds something different to take their attention each time they view one of my paintings.
